Little Heroes Press

Little Heroes Press is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of compassionate and socially aware citizens. Through engaging and inspiring stories, we teach children the values of solidarity, justice, and empathy, empowering them to understand and stand up for what is right. Our books encourage young readers to embrace the power of community, fairness, and the importance of working together for a better world.

Educators say, "If they can see it, they can be it." When parents, teachers and librarians offer stories of children and their working parents stories about fighting for their rights, they inspire children to imagine a better, more just world. The role models in their literature teach them to fight inequality, bullying, gender inequality, racism and rigid conformity to class-based cultural norms. Stories about social justice issues encourage children to join labor and social justice organizations when they come of age, and to question the grownups about who rules the world… and why.

Support our mission to empower and educate communities around the world.

Helping Puerto Rico Schools After Hurricane Maria

Hard Ball Press made a significant impact by donating bilingual children's books to the Puerto Rico Teachers Federation in collaboration with FMPRLucha (Federación de Maestros de Puerto Rico) after Hurricane Maria. In 2017. We sent 600 books, thanks to generous donors who answered our call for matching donations. The books were distributed across the island, helping to replace those lost in the storm and bringing hope to countless children.

Preserving Indigenous Languages of the May

We are helping In to preserve the Maya indigenous languages in parternship with the Maya Book Project. We helped produce bilingual copies of Margarito’s Forest in Spanish-K’iche and Spanish-Mam - the indigenous languages of the Maya. The books have been distributed to Maya schools across Guatemala. English-K’Iche and English-Mam versions are available to Maya children living in North America. In this way we are helping preserve the native languages.

Planting the Seeds of Solidarity

We love to publish stories where children learn they can make a difference in their world, however small they are and however young. They learn about reaching out to other children, standing together for justice, and sometimes even teaching their parents the just way to live in the world. Children learn they have real superpowers they can use for good: lessons to carry them through life.
