Andy Piascik
Andy Piascik is a longtime radical activist and award-winning author whose work has appeared in numerous publications and websites. A native of Bridgeport, Connecticut, his writing explores labor, social justice, political activism, and the often-overlooked stories of working people and grassroots movements.
He is the co-author, with Steve Thornton, of Radical Connecticut: People’s History in the Constitution State, a collection that brings to light the workers, activists, movements, strikes, and organizations that helped shape Connecticut and the nation. Offering an alternative to traditional histories centered on political and economic elites, the book highlights the experiences of working people, women, people of color, artists, and others who struggled for justice and social change.
Piascik is also the author of the novel In Motion and has contributed extensively to progressive and labor publications throughout his career. Through both his writing and activism, he continues to document people's history and the power of ordinary people to create meaningful change.
